This is your My Design Guide, Design Consultation. Your style incorporates Modern, Asian, Romantic, and Rustic styles with a preference for Modern. But we don't want to go too modern as it is not in keeping with the rest of the house. Our goal with this consultation is to unify the terrific kitchen design with the adjoining rooms, especially the living room. Also, to complete the kitchen by making some changes to the eat in area that will give the room a more cohesive look.
We love your remodel. The cabinets, tile backsplash, and counter-tops were great choices in making the kitchen more up to date.
To address your concerns we are recommending some new products, flooring and ideas to make this room cohesive and 'professionally designed,' but Amanda style!
Our first recommendation is related to the wainscoting. It gives the room a country feel. With the updated cabinets you have a more modern look and then the wainscoting is contrasting country with it. You could do one of two things, I would recommend either removing the wainscoting or painting it white. With either options you need to paint the walls.
We've chosen a palette of green - that should become the accent color in the living room and a red accent color in the kitchen. Wood finishes are espresso and hardware (lamp bases, knobs, faucets, etc..)should match your new kitchen hardware- they look to be nickel.
Your preferred color palette is earthtones and so we've incorporated a bit of that sense in the kitchen.
