Hi, this is Mary Jo your designer. I graduated from Louisiana State University with an interior design degree and have been working in the industry ever since.
This guest bathroom is such a mixture of things that it will look unbelievable when it actually all goes together! The simple storage/layout make it a perfect place to be stylish, but also relaxed enough for kids. We know that with all these updates it will be everything you need it to be and more!
We love that you have the dark wood already in the room as well as a great mirror and large upper cabinet. We wanted to keep the room neutral and give you a subtle color on the wall that would help make the room relaxed and more calming than the wallpaper that is in there now.
The tile and carpet on the floor and in the shower made the room look so awkward that we wanted to make it uniform and simple. We chose a floor tile that looks like stone but without the price tag. Then we picked out a crisp white tile that has a different shape to make the bathroom more modern but has a traditional aspect to it. We thought these would help set the tone for the rest of the room.
Hardware was another thing to update in this space. We chose a different faucet, door pull, shower head, towel bar, toilet paper holder, hand towel holder and toilet. Some of these are the same as the master bedroom. We know that you wanted a more upscale look in the master bathroom than in here.
