Hi, this is Kacie. I'm your designer. I graduated from the University of NC School of Design and have been working in the industry ever since.

Your Stylefinder Profile is Asian with modern, romantic, and traditional influence and and your preferred color palette is natural tones (warm yellows). Our recommendations will help you achieve your unique style and solve the problems you shared with us.

We love your incredible natural light in this room. This is a feature much sought after in any home.

The challenges of this room are: utilizing the space in the best way, incorporating both living and dining areas, and creating a cozy and cohesive design with the kitchen.

I started with your vision of warm yellow and deep turquoise, what a gorgeous scheme! It's calming, yet exciting and stylish. From this scheme, I was able to select furnishings that will accentuate your existing pieces to create a cohesive look.

One of your concerns was the furniture layout. Sure, this room might be a bit small to house both dining and living room furniture... but I actually think you have too LITTLE furniture currently. To make this room truly functional, add a few pieces. First, a petite and stylish loveseat. I seleceted a dark microfiber that will be extremely durable and forgiving with the messes of children and pets (and adults sometimes!). Place this small sofa against that long, blank wall. We LOVE the idea of a photo collage, especially over the sofa. Add a small end table and table lamp (in your turquoise color) beside it, and your living room will look stylin' from the front door!

For added seating, place two armchairs across from the sofa, slightly angled and in a lighter color to keep the room feeling airy. Any chair in a lighter shade would work perfectly! Add a floor lamp in between the chairs for more lighting. Since we are short on space, use an ottoman instead of a coffee table, so it can be placed closer to the furniture for your feet or for an extra seat.

You also mentioned possibly wanting a chandelier for over the dining table. A unique light fixture will make your room feel one of a kind and different from the other houses on the block. The chandelier I selected has simple lines that mimic the lines in the end table and table lamp, and go back to your Asian Style results from the quiz.

I truly hope you love this design as much as we do, and that you find that it's a perfect guide towards getting that dream living room you desire! Please, come to us with any questions and as always, happy decorating!!
